In my computer windows defender gone turned off (windows vista home premium)?

I am getting a message that there are multiple security problems in your computer. when I checking in detail it shows that 'virus protection - not found' 'spyware and other malware protection -off' 'windows defender - turned off'

Actually I have installed an Antivirus software (only antivirus and firewall) and it shows as active

please any one can help me to solve this problem?

To restart your defender just go to start, all programs and right click on the windows defender and select send to desktop and then you can control defender right from your desktop, I do it all the time, Good Luck;
