The laptop is a dell inspiron 1520 and it has windows vista home premium. I am trying to connect it to my wireless internet through an access point which works with my dad's laptop, but when i click connect to the network, it does not even ask for the encription key, it says ''windows cannot connect to ...'' I clicked diagnose the problem and it told me to ''view the wireless security settings on this computer to verify they are compatible with this network.''
Now i am stuck trying to find these settings.
Help finding these security settings or a method to fix this problem will be appreciated.
Thanks
How does one view the wireless security settings on a vista run laptop?ducati
not all wireless specifications are supported by all wireless adapters, your network might be an 802.11a/b/g/n if your laptop only has the ability to connect to a b or g network than if your network is n than you wont be able to connect. (early n routers didn't work well with older specifications).
