I have Norton Internet Security on three computers, and it is up for renewal tomorrow. The renewal cost is $49.99 for Norton 2008, but I noticed if I buy it as a ''new subscription,'' I can get it for $31.99 (with a coupon code). My questions are (1) Can I even do that? (2) Will it be valid on all three computers and (3) Why on earth is the renewal fee more expensive than buying the program outright?

I have no idea as I changed from Nortons to Mcfee which was in stirling 拢24 99 and much cheaper than Nortons and has a higher protection. But if I was you I would write to Nortons complaining about it...

I would not use Norton if they gave it to me for free.
I don't know one or two but question 3 is simple. Almost every company does that. The initial price is much lower- it's a trick to sucker you in and then they jack up the price... by then you're too lazy to bother cancelling.
